Suddenly, every second businessman & entrepreneur in India – and their third cousin and fourth nephew – wants to invest in CBG.
But scaling CBG to the aggressive ambitions of our government and these super-enthusiastic entrepreneurs will require feedstock beyond food waste, animal waste (cow dung, poultry litter) and press mud.
Unless agro waste such as paddy straw and/or dedicated energy crops such as Napier grass kicks off, we can kiss a tearful goodbye to our grand CBG plans – which is something like 15 million tons of CBG per year…and we are producing perhaps a hundredth of that right now!
